My EU based alternative to #Patreon and #PayPal for donations is #Liberapay @Liberapay. They are in France, so under GDPR, Open Source, non-profit, they don't sell your data, don't take a cut but rely on donations instead and can do direct debit via SEPA/IBAN, so IMHO a Very Much Good Enough solution :) My yearly donations to #Forgejo and #Makertube are there now. (yes, they also support Stripe and Paypal for payments, but I prefer SEPA/IBAN to keep everything here ;)

Bad news! It's taking awhile for the insurance payout to clear on the previous car loan, and until that does I'm still on the hook. Assuming that's gonna take a few months, I'm looking at $600 to cover that.

Aber immerhin sitzt #PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A. in Europa in Luxembourg und ist dort eine Bank, unterliegt damit auch der sehr strengen EU Bankenaufsicht.
Damit sich #wero , die europäische Alternative für #paypal oder #klarna (geht an die US-Börse), etablieren kann, müssen so viele wie möglich diesen Dienst bei ihrer Bank in Anspruch nehmen / beantragen / anfordern und nutzen!

I just received news that my car, the main mode of transportation, has been considered TOTALED. Fortunately I'm near public transit; unfortunately it is notoriously unreliable.
I could use the $$$ for bus passes, a down payment, Lyft for crucial appointments, and therapy bills.
