Severance would be capitalism’s ultimate triumph where the individual becomes both oppressor and oppressed.

The procedure bifurcates consciousness, creating an "innie" enslaved to labor in service of an "outie" who is blissfully detached from their own complicity. It is capitalism's ideal endpoint, where exploitation is outsourced to a version of oneself, rendering resistance impossible and solidarity obsolete.

The outies are the ones who stayed in Omelas, they and Lumon are the villains.

The innies are the better parts of themselves, suppressed.

Mark Scout is toxic; wallowing, immature, rageful, and refuses therapy.

Helena is cruel and complicit.

Bert Goodman told us he's going to Hell.

Irving Bailiff is a mystery.

Dylan George is aloof and immature.

They are all selfish, eminently self-serving.

"Who are you?"

To each outie, not a person

So, I’m all set to start binge-watching the second season of ‘#Severance’.

Since it’s been a while since I watched the first season, should I go back and start from the beginning or just jump straight into season 2? 🤔

I'm binging #Severance this weekend and hating it (see previous posts in my feed for more), when I suddenly realized that this show would be so much better if they simply set the entire thing within the mysterious corporate office, without ever cutting away to the outside world at all, which now has me more infuriated with the show than ever over WHY THEY DIDN'T JUST DO THAT
