A strong radio burst reaching upto approx 11GHz was observed by the Owens Valley Solar Array at 22h48 UT 29 Mar.

An M1.4 flare peaked at 21h42 UT so the radio burst was probably associated with that.

An M1.9 flare peaked at 22h58 UT.

"G3 (Strong) Geomagnetic Storm Watch for 23 Mar" by NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center - The Sun erupted a coronal mass ejection (CME) expected to reach Earth on March 23 UTC at G3 storm level. Warnings like this will become a regular thing for a number of months as recurring coronal holes rotate around the sun.

A coronal hole is now facing the Earth, causing a stream of solar wind which will elevate geomagnetic conditions in a few days. NOAA has issued a G1 Geomagnetic Storm watch for 10 Feb.

A large coronal hole is facing Earth. It is expected to be sending a strong stream of solar wind our way which could cause some disturbed geomagnetic activity in the coming days.

Holes in the atmosphere appear as large dark areas, and a large hole in the centre-north and a smaller one south are visible.

"A New Year's Eve Day Geomagnetic Storm is Anticipated - G3 Watch" by #NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center - G3 geomagnetic storm (up to Kp=7) expected Dec 31 in GMT. Forecasts are variable because the CME is not directly aimed at Earth. NOAA satellite in L1 orbit will be able to measure it 1 hour ahead of arrival. A New Year's Eve Day Geomagnetic Storm is Anticipated - G3 Watch

A G3 (Strong) geomagnetic storm watch is in effect for 31 Dec, with a G1 (Minor) watch for 1 Jan. These are in anticipation of a pair of Earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CME). The G1 Watch for 1 Jan is being considered for upgrade to a G2 Watch. SWPC forecasters have a fair level of confidence in some measure of Earth effectual components and general timing windows of these two particular CMEs, however, as is usual with these events, intensity is less certain. We will not know the true potential of geomagnetic disturbance levels of response until the CME(s) arrive 1 million miles from Earth (when they will be about 30-60 minutes from reaching our planet) and their structure and intensity can be measured by our solar wind observatories - NOAA DSCOVR and NASA ACE spacecraft. Also, neither CME is expected to be a direct hit, which also makes forecast of intensity more difficult. Continue to follow our webpage for the latest forecasts and information.

An M9.0 flare peaked at 11h12 UT 23 Dec. A moderate R2 radio blackout affected Africa. A type II radio emission was observed. A "halo CME" (coronal mass ejection) was observed, likely interacting with Earth in a few days. A G1 geomagnetic storm is being predicted on 25 Dec, possibly gifting aurora to high latitudes.
