#UnpopularOpinion License-based games are not for me, and the greater cultural weigh on the IP, the more I'll be repelled.

I can play in City of Heroes or Star Wars and not feel in the shadow of Statesman or Luke Skywalker. I CANNOT play in Gotham City and not feel in Batman's shadow. I like the PCs being the story's protagonists, not some fly-by-night nobodies in someone else's.

#UnpopularOpinion: #FirefoxOS was a good #mobile #OS, but @mozilla kneecapped it by not selling devices for it to those that wanted it.

#unpopularopinion I know #PHP8.4 is out and I highly recommend new projects to start on it right away if possible BUT I don't feel compelled to drop PHP8.1 yet. None of my current or new packages would benefit for the new shiny stuff so much that dropping 8.1 would make sense. Am I wrong or am I missing something ?

Taco Bell is Good, Actually.

WAIT WAIT WAIT hear me out: the *default* tacos at Taco Bell are bad. Like, stomach-crampingly, toilet-cloggingly bad. BUT. If you order through the app, you can customize everything and, for example, swap out the seasoned-pulp-of-beef-and-grease for, say, black beans, and add guac, and create something quite tasty and not likely to cause gastric distress.

Before praising the achievements of building robots, did we actually stand still to wonder if a world with robots is really what we dream of ?

#ClassAction as a measure to deliver recourse against #Corporations is inherently #flawed, #unjust and cements the fact that "If the #penalty is a #fine, it's only #illegal for the #poor"!

In case you don't believe me that #ClassActions only exist to enrich #LawFirms and allow any #corporation to send out insultingly-low #cheques:

• #Valve literally changed their [luckily illegal in places with #ConsumerProtection like the #EU] #SteamSubscriberAgreement to basically force people [in the #USA and the rest of the world] to kiss their #Steam account goodbye if they choose to join a Class Action.

• #Sony's #OtherOsSettlement didn't force them to #reinstate the #OtherOs functionality on the #PS3 and only gave US comsumers tiny cheques! A core functionality that was as much of a seller of the product as #BackwardsCompatibility and #BluRay playback...

• No Class Action against #Apple forced them to #undo shit they purposefully designed into products - espechally their #AntiRepairDesign with #DRM that basically requires a RAT to authenticate parts which they do to this very day and which they literally patented...

(Don't even get me started on the shitshow that is #iCloudLock which I hope the @EUCommission will #ban as it's *infringing on #ConsumerRights re: #property and causes thousands of tons of 100% avoidable #eWaste...)

To be honest, i still do not understand what throwing soup at a painting, in other words wasting food, should do to raise awareness about ecological issues like the climate crisis.

Sounds to me more like a promotion for food waste.
