In response to these courageous, prophetic voices, Vice President J.D. #Vance disputed the very definition of #Christian love in order to serve his anti-immigrant, #Christofascist agenda. Speaking with CBS and Fox News, Vance attacked the #Catholic #Church for "not being a good partner" on immigration and even falsely implied that they were only providing aid to get government funding. Then he wrongly claimed that Christians should rank our love for others in a way that deprioritizes non-Americans:
"You love your family, and then you love your neighbor, and then you love your community, and then you love your fellow citizens... and then, after that, you can focus on and prioritize the rest of the world. A lot of the far left has completely inverted that."
Friend, this is a deliberate distortion of the Gospel and an attempt to discredit those of us who advocate for welcoming immigrants because of our Christian faith. We must all stand together and proclaim that Christ's love is for all people no matter where they come from.
