Got things wired up and wrote some quick demo code in #circuitpython using a vectorio circle, I’m mapping the analog input from the potentiometer to the circle x and y position so that the circle follows the pot’s wiper. It’s a log pot so there’s some accounting for that in the code. Luckily I’ve done a few round display projects in the past year so I could take from the math done by past me

Fri., Dec. 6, 2-4pm, in 245 Beacon St. Room 301 (the Design & Prototyping Lab) all are invited to the Boston College Student Technology Showcase! iOS Swift Apps & Physical Computing Electronics Programming students will be presenting their original creations, science fair-style. The event is in a very cool maker/lab space. Enjoy pizza & soft drinks. Encourage hackers. Seek talent & come away inspired! #Swift, #Maker, #CircuitPython, #SwiftUI, #Education

Very excited about this project. It’s a #circuitpython video synth with audio reactivity. I’m using a PDM mic for FFT and video output is DVI via HSTX on a feather rp2350. There’s 3 different scenes but the party parrot is my favorite. The circles in the corner react to overall amplitude and the parrot reacts to frequency bands for snare and bass drum. Rotary encoders affect color but hard to demo that with my phone

Just finished a complete overhaul of the internals of my ever popular lightsabre make which was broken in several ways and had multiple wires close to breaking. All resoldered and hot glue strain relief applied (after testing all parts together). New USB breakout fitted. Now to reassemble with newly printed parts (in PETG) which hopefully will handle the abuse this gets at public events. #maker #circuitpython

Alright #Maker and #CircuitPython homies, I need to make up my 2.5 hr hands-on exam. I usually give students multiple builds in that time. They each have a CircuitPlayground Bluefruit, Pi Pico W, 30 neopixel strip, STEMMA-QT w/sensors: distance, temp, 12 pad capacitive touch, potentiometer, 180° servo, buttons. Ideas welcome! Here is an example of a past exam: youtu.be/_rk9HzRbyFU?si=qS_RGr

#YouTube content creators - I assume the answer is “no” but appreciate advice. I have two primary content topics on one educational channel - building #iOS apps in #SwiftUI and building #Maker projects with #CircuitPython (it’s flipped class content I share from my uni courses). I have a steadily growing channel of 8k subs. But every time I post on one topic I loose subs - assuming it’s a fan of the other topic. There is no easy way to “split” the channel without starting another anew, correct?
