If my insurance agent could see the shit I get up to in my home, I don't think he'd be quite so nice to me.

But hey! Project complete! We got the giant 36" Trinitron in the loft, and with only one new scratch and one smashed finger. Everything is still sort of pulled apart but you can get a general idea of the layout. His and hers PCs and TVs on either end, with the CRT and retro consoles in the center (less strain on the controller cables and makes split screen co-op easier).

Well... Not quite complete. I still have to reattach the tinted panels, rework all the power/AV cables, install all the consoles, disassemble and remove the hoist, put the couch back, and clean.

But this was the hard part!

A large 36" CRT television, hanging from a chain and a series of ratchet straps. The TV is suspended in a walk-in closet space and is about 3-4 feet off the floor. This is pretty scary, as this television weighs 220lbs!

Ah le plaisir, le samedi matin à 8h30 quand il fait froid, qu'il y a du brouillard...
Ils ont été sympa et sont rentrés facilement.
Mais il a fallu partir à la recherche du trou dans la clôture.
Quelle surprise (non) de découvrir la clôture mitoyenne de la forêt zone de chasse le barbelé (mis avant notre installation) coupé, le grillage abaissé au sol et les branches de ronces, de buissons et arbres coupées. C'était plus un trou, c'était un boulevard.
Ils ont ouvert la clôture et sont rentrés dans l'herbage avec les chiens. Sûrement pour poursuivre du gibier.
J'en ai ras le cul de ces vieux glaires séchés de chasseurs de merde.

Jument en stress donc je vais voir.
Chasseur au bout de son pré (pas dedans donc pas chez nous, je peux rien dire). Il va faire nuit, je vais voir si je le connais, lui dire de faire gaffe, que les chevaux sont en stress.
Fusil non cassé, à moins de 100 m d'un maison d'un côté, 75m d'une autre avec une route à 50m entre les 2, 400 d'une troisième et les chevaux de l'autre. Le type à 81 ans, la tremblote, ne voit quasi plus rien, il me dit "j'attends les cochons qui viennent là la nuit".
Donc un type quasi aveugle, qui tremble va tirer au gros calibre dans un petit carré où se trouvent 3 maisons, une route et des chevaux.
Super.

Amazing... electing a #fascist made Palantir's stock shoot up? Who would have guessed??

#Palantir, if you don't already know, is steroid-enhanced #surveillance and #spying #software developed by right-wing #Billionaire (and JD #Vance's main benefactor) Peter #Thiel.

It was originally called "Igor" and developed to track down fraudsters at #PayPal, in a "murder-board" fashion, connecting their transactions to their phone calls to their geolocations etc.

Thiel turned it into "Palantir" (a name taken from the All-Seeing Orbs in the Lord of the Rings novels), and has #government contracts to use this software to track "#criminals and #terrorists".

Just what gets defined as "criminal" and allowed to be tracked with Palantir remains to be seen in the coming years.

Alex #Karp, who runs Palantir for Thiel has stated "that "the Ivy Leagues" have "embraced the thin and new #woke #religion, otherwise, viewed as an intellectual cause, but in fact, is a way of organizing things so that the greatest institutions of our time disappear and turn into discriminatory dysfunction."

"Karp called Palantir a "counter-example" to companies that have embraced #wokeness, adding, "I’m super proud of the results. We are going to continue to execute, especially in the U.S."

I witnessed a worker who accidentally opened the Gates of Hell while digging with a mini-excavator about 1-2 meters below the ground.
200 meters from where I work,
a school in Munich.

Feeling oddly relieved that our school relocates next year.
I will keep an eye on the construction activities.
Preferably from a distance. ;)
