While there still is some time until the odonata season kicks off in my area, this male C. mercuriale still fascinates me due to his throax pattern. It's known that members of this genus can resemble each other but I haven't seen anyone document C. mercuriale with an abdomen similar to that of C. hastulatum.

I really love a good look at a Damselfly. This is an Eastern Forktail, Ischnura verticalis

So, November 8th, and we're still getting #dragonflies along the Pierce Road in #Harvard #Forest.
