I'm River, red fox on the Internet. Used to be blue (of course) but now I've (almost) got that sweet natural color.
People say I smell like tangerines well, who am I to argue with that?
A final touch on my birthday cake, the velour effect distracts wonderfully from the flaws ^^
I need to learn how to take it out properly out of its mold, there's surely a technique to it, and when I try again, there's more cake!

Well, here's my 2nd try at croissants. Improvement: my portioning and shaping improved, still having problems with dough tearing, I suspect I'm rolling it out too hard when laminating. Also need to tweak baking temps just a tad more.
Overall happy with the progress I'm making. 3 of these looked pretty good, one tore really really bad!
October's cocktail pie - Kentucky Pear Sausage Rolls
A Kentucky Pear is a proper autumn special of bourbon, pear and cognac liqueur, pear juice and apple juice.
My sausage rolls are made of an apple and caramelised shallot sausage sitting on a pear and bourbon sauce, wrapped up in puff pastry. Great picnic food for a leafy walk

This is my 3rd or 4th try at making mille-feuille and they're starting to look okay.
I buy the pastry, not going to kid myself there, and make the rest. Surprising amount of geometry involved in the assembly.
