The argument over whether or not #DieHard is a #Christmas movie remains a silly one. Of course it is.
When people ask the question, what they really mean is, "Is Die Hard belong on the shelf next to my favourite Christmas movie?" Whatever movie the may be; generally something more traditionally fuzzy or heart warming. It's non-traditional, sure but there's no similar argument about National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. #ChristmasVacation deals with the "modern" #Xmas experience just like DH. (Modern circia the late 80s anyways.) DH just skips the sentimentalism; if there wasn't a heist, John just ends up going to an awkward Xmas party like the rest of us.
Anyways my main point, as always around this time of year, is that you can skip the "Is DH an Xmas movie?" discourse by simply watching "The Long Kiss Goodnight" instead. Very action, definitely Xmas.
