It's worth pointing out that back in 1986, my Xerox 1186 boxes, running #InterLisp, took twenty-one MINUTES to compute factorial 1000.
All of these systems are, in fact, amazingly fast in their bignum performance.

What if the classic residential environment of Medley Interlisp met the modern file based Git? The GITFNS tools are a step at bridging these worlds.
Here the PRC command (PR Comparison) shows in side by side windows the diffs of a Lisp function between two branches of Medley's repo. The smaller window at left is a list of PRs. More details in the GITFNS documentation:

Would you like to learn Medley Interlisp but don't know where to start? The documentation section of our site provides a sorted reading list of progressively more advanced manuals and resources. Some familiarity with Lisp is assumed.
Who needs flat design when we have vintage skeuomorphism? This is the EDITKEYS module of Medley Interlisp, a text formatting toolbar (thin horizontal window) of the TEdit WYSIWYG rich text editor (main window).
The Dec 25, 2024 Medley release incorporates significant changes under the hood of the TEdit WYSIWYG rich text editor. Among the major visible changes are performance and rendering accuracy improvements and new commands.
Testing and feedback are welcome.

Hello from the Medley Interlisp Project! We revive and modernize the Medley Interlisp extensible graphical operating and programming environment created at Xerox PARC.
We post news & updates, tips, historical info, and more. We look forward to connecting with researchers, software preservation experts, Lisp programmers, retrocomputing enthusiasts, and anyone interested.
A rare copy for sale of "Lisp Style and Design" by Molly Miller and Eric Benson (Digital Press, 1990), a great book cited by Paul Graham in On Lisp that covers often overlooked topics. All the proceeds will be donated to the Medley Interlisp Project.
@ireneista I have a very deep affection for the old Xerox #Interlisp manuals, and the updates to them we used to receive every three or four months and carefully insert, and all there 'this page intentionally left blank' and other idiosyncrasies. If I remember they were four (square) ring rather than three ring, but I imagine very much the same sort of thing.
"Medley LOOPS: The Basic System" is a newly published ebook by Stephen Kaisler:

This is Volume I of the "Medley LOOPS" series about the Lisp Object-Oriented Programming System, an Interlisp object extension. Volume II is coming soon, Volume III in a year or so. More details and other free Interlisp ebooks are available here:

Poking around with NoteCards I ran across this bitmap editor which comes with its library. Here Medley Interlisp is running on my Linux Mint system.
