#snowdrop of the day is Modern Art.
We harvested a few of the carrots this morning because they were poking their shoulders out. I forget what the variety is called but they are supposed to look like this. They were neither sweet nor juicy, as I had hoped, but it's still a heck of a treat to get to eat out of the #garden in January.
You can tell that #snowdrop season has begun when #galanthus Big Boy appears in the border and says 'hello'.
This well proportioned and healthy looking flower is accompanied by blue green pointed leaves.
A must for those #carryon moments in the garden.
Our first #witchhazel is in flower. This one is called Robert.
Found a great channel on Youtube for gardening called GrowVeg. It a comprehensive but not confusing guide to growing your own food successfully. Here's a link to a video about crops you can start in January! Check it out!

Jack Frost turned my mom's garden into a box of confections Might share more later.
Our #snowdrops are popping up all over the place now in the #December garden.
Another reliable early flowering cultivar is this one called Peter Gatehouse.
It has an X mark on the inner petals and elongated outer petals.
Saves time, saves effort, saves money… but most importantly, it helps feed and shelter local birds (and other wee wild critters) through the winter months…

*fond memories of my two winter tomatoes growing up indoors* I’m glad I kept them hanging onto their lives until it was stably warm outside.
I put details in AltText.
