You might believe that there are literally #NatureSpirits- entities of Life/Energy that surround us or you may feel this is a metaphor for the awe/respect we feel for the natural world, the complex unfolding of natural rhythms/ processes.
A short video + a couple of rough sketches expanding on the idea in the video (maybe later I'll have time to do a proper drawing). These are Laumas- kind of #woodland #fairy #fate guardian or cautionary spirit

Hail Freya! Here's my 89th #FridayPaganPoll!
I consider there to be 4 broad categories of Pagans:
*Witch- Eclectic, Wicca, Wheel of the Year, folk magick, god-worship is optional.
*Polytheist- Devotional, religious studies, deity and pantheon worship, prayers and offerings, magick is optional.
*Occultist- Thelema, alchemy, ceremonial magick, trances, summonings, experiments.
*Animist- Nature-worship, seasonal celebration, meditation, spending time outdoors, minimal magick or god-worship.
For this poll, I'm asking, which do you lean most towards? I know, I know, it's difficult, but if you had to pick just one?
@vlrny thanks! The goddess drawings are close to my heart -I have a bunch of them, based on ancient artifacts (and interpretations) from the archaeology and archaeomythology work of Marija Gimbutas
(here's an intro if you aren't familiar- this is not a dull scholarly film)

Day 16 (no oomph to post last night!) A few colder days- warmer again on the weekend- but beautiful with #fog #frost new #snow +great #light from the distracted #Saule #Sun when she appears, as we near #WinterSolstice

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 11 Someone here is very into #HolidayDecorations not in a decor magazine way, but in a personal, improvised way- lights, tinsel, beads and balls, paper,, repurposed shiny things of all sorts. They'll call it #ChristmasDecorations to me it's all #Solstice Colour and light to enhance the short days and celebrate the long nights!

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 10 Latvian tradition recognises numerous #LittleMothers minor goddesses or aspects of #GreatMother #Goddess who are concerned with every aspect of the human/natural world #LeafMother #SnowMother + #WindMother have been #decorating for the #WinterSolstice #Alberta #pagan #animist #nature
#ArtAdventCalendar As we approach the #WinterSolstice life-giving #Saule #Sun becomes ever more the focus due to her relative absence! At the same time we must recognise and appreciate the #darkness the other font of life #Primal #Goddess #Ragana represents this balancing force of #nature #winter #Baltic #Latvian #pagan #animist

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 7 in mid-winter, sunset-y (and sunrise-y) horiizon skies can grace much of the day. From yesterday on the #farm about an hour and 20 minutes from #sunset #CountryLiving #Alberta #winter #landscape #photography

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 6 Mix of sun and cloud yesterday. While out to haul firewood I caught a few minutes of #Saule / Sun shining into the edge of the forest, here highlighting the deeply furrowed bark of Balsam Poplar Populus balsamifera

I finally got my #AutumnEquinox stuff all done The #blog post has thoughts on traditional #Latvian harvest celebrations and the Time of Spirits which begins then.
There are more photos, 4 videos, all links to YouTube and #Spectra in the blog, and I'll link the videos in the thread here too.

Sunday- day of the #AutumnEquinox was a bit rainy off and on, so I didn't do my main seasonal/remembrance altar (that was yesterday instead, posts yet to come!). Instead, I went for a bit of a #SlowWalk and made an impromptu altar with some odds and ends I picked up along the way-added to a bench that had bits of wood I kept aside from last winter's woodcutting. More pics on the blog

Greetings.
Here's a little #introduction. I want to stay connected, but I'm getting sick of ads, algorithms, and other hazards of more conventional social media, so I'm trying out Mastodon.
I was born in the early 80s. I have lived in the US states of #Louisiana, #Georgia, and #Kentucky. I have a bachelor's degree in English.
I'm a #pagan, #polytheist, and #animist devoted primarily to a few Greek and Egyptian deities. I'm a #Dionysian. My practice includes daily #meditation, devotional activities to various deities and spirits, finding modern ways to celebrate ancient holidays, and ancestor work, among other things.
I also enjoy #drawing, #painting, #flowarts, #hiking, #reading, #writing, watching #movies, and #gaming in my spare time.
Some other interests include #animation, #anthropology, #buddhism, #divination, #folklore, #history, #linguistics, #literature, #music, #mythology, #psychology, #puppetry, #religion, and #theatre.
Migrating here from mastodon.lol, which is shutting down soon. So here's my #introduction -
I'm a #pagan #polytheist #animist #queer #author #artist and spiritworker. My specialty (obsession) is all things #Minoan and I'm delighted to be a member of the #PaganCommunity
I'm the founder and Temple Mom of #AriadnesTribe (link in bio).
I've written magical #fiction, Pagan/historical #nonfiction, an adult #ColoringBook, created a #Tarot deck and collabed on another.
I love #gardening and #LivingHistory and preindustrial skills and animals of all sorts ( #cats #dogs #chickens #cows etc.). I hope one day to have a little place in the country.
And I'm very happy to be here!
#introduction
Been looking to federate for a while, as this is where I think social media & the Internet best sit. Politically Liberal Left in the UK/European understanding of the terms. I am a web/mobile app developer by day, but my heart lies with #storytelling, #folktales & their relationship to identity, self, trauma. Background in mental health nursing. I run #ghostwalks on evenings in #Haworth (of #Bronte fame) UK. Contemporary #Druid, spiritually #animist. Almost certainly #ASD #autistic
I don't always have tons of time to scroll and see what else is going on, so I often click on the profiles/pages of folks who say /post something interesting- with vagaries of internet, new member influx etc- that doesn't always work well (sometimes cannot comment or favourite when I might like to!), but I have 'met' cool people. Always open to more interaction- esp into serious #PlantNerds various kinds of #heathens, #pagans etc-- I think of myself as an #animist, but just in my own way!
