Yes, I did a similar drawing recently. But I'm playing with a new ink in today's #inkyDays drawing.
I've added a bunch of photos and more words than usual to this month's post for my supporters on Patreon and Ko-fi:

If you're an artist that draws on a tablet, and that tablet isn't an ipad or wacom, what do you draw on?
I've had my ipad and apple pencil for almost 6 years now, and it works fine, but eventually, it will stop getting security updates and/or will break, and I will need to get something else. What do you use to draw? I don't want to buy more apple products, so I'm looking for something android or linux based with a good stylus (or even just a tablet you recommend and a stylus you recommend for that tablet).
I prefer to draw on the screen directly, so I'm not interested in a drawing pad that doesn't have a screen. It'd be great if the drawing pad didn't require a computer, but it's ok if it requires a phone.
I really need to get some art supplies and they are ridiculously expensive. It’s crazy.
Any support for my continuing to paint is really appreciated and needed.

One of the fun things about rediscovering my art in my late 50s is how little I ever knew to begin with.
Today I learned that, while it's fine to store brushes upright, the reason you should keep them horizontal while they dry is so bristles don't let water into the ferrule and handle. Which is not good for the brush. The more you know...

Mein neuer Arbeitsbereich. Dank meinem fleißigen und handwerklich begabten Mann, sieht es sogar besser aus als ich es mir vorgestellt habe.
My new workspace. Thanks to my hardworking and skilled man, it looks even better than I imagined.

Went to Ogawamachi for a light café lunch and a taiyaki, and then walked up to Ochanomizu, where I got a few more alcohol ink art supplies at the aptly-named “tools“ store.

I've been painting with gouache for a little over a year now. If I've learned one thing it's this: you blow through A LOT of white paint. But I discovered a hack from playing around with the Himi gouache set which comes with pastel colors. You can both lighten a value and color mix with a pastel blue, beige or pink sometimes if you were already going to use a blue, yellow or red to mix. Saves your white paint a bit. Thus, along with the extra tube of white, ordered a few pastels.

I took a trip down to Raleigh, NC. to drop off some neon and pick up some giant fluorescent tubing that was slated for the dumpster. This neon shop relocated to New Orleans and they left behind two pallets of tubing with diameters ranging from 15-25mm and lengths between 6 and 10 feet (2-3 meters)!
I was only able to fit about a fifth of the choicest colors into my minivan. Mega, giant tubes. Apparently these came from Atlantic City shops making neon and lighting for hotels and casinos there.
When I can get them, these big tubes cost me $20- $30 each new. Now I have hundreds of them to play with! Instead of lining cove lights and skyscrapers, the giant tubes are gonna become big cloud doodles, sculptures, and line my living room :). Like bending big leaded balloons!
