Ever since I learned that the universe might exist inside a uber-massive black hole, I keep thinking that Mars is not far enough away to banish him to. Like I want to eject him from our black hole universe and send him on his way to like Mars-297 in a black hole universe that is at least two black hole universes away from ours. Physics can and must find a way.

NASA created an audio clip of sound waves rippling out of a supermassive black hole, located 250 million light-years away.

The black hole is at the center of the Perseus cluster of galaxies. The acoustic waves coming from it have been transposed up 57 & 58 octaves so they're audible to human hearing.

The result, released by NASA in 2022, is a sort of unearthly howling that, if we're honest, sounds not only spooky, but a little bit angry:

i just learned that the closest known black hole to our solar system is ~1,500 LY away & called Gaia BH1.

It is a stellar-mass black hole in a binary system, orbiting a G-type star.

It's located in the #constellation #Ophiuchus.
