New #phosh #squeekboard landed in #postmarketOS! Handles fractional scaling significantly better now! The keyboard still gets smaller, but it stretches to fill the available space rather than wasting space with black bars and making the keys even smaller. I hope that fractional scaling eventually will not impact keyboard height at all, but this is already a huge usability upgrade.
This is at 150% scale:

Anyone with experience installing native Linux on the Google Pixel 3a device? Looks like @postmarketOS is the best choice but as long as it’s not stable i’m wondering which things may not work https://images.postmarketos.org/bpo/edge/google-sargo/phosh/20241113-1729/ #phosh #linuxphone
Yay! Ich habe #postmarketOS auf einem alten Moto G4 Play Smartphone (codename #harpia) aus dem Jahr 2017 zum Laufen bekommen! Telefonieren, mobiles Internet, Touchscreen, Lautsprecher, Bluetooth, GPS funktionieren!
Im Moment mit der #phosh-Oberfläche.

Phosh now also picks up the accent color if configured
(https://fosstodon.org/@agx@librem.one/113330561659179125) there's a new Pomodoro timer quick setting
We now save screenshots to screenshots folder

Sacré bleu !
Based on my previous failed experiments, I was not expecting to get so close on the first try (well, first now that I'm working with a functioning keyboard). By "this," I mean swipe typing using wvkbd and swipeGuess, btw.
Obviously, my word list needs tweaking. There are some words that are just impossible to swipe due to similarly located results that take precedent, but it should be possible to refine over time. There is...
Okay I'm back after the first leg of the journey. I'd put the phone on suspend for a while which also stonewalls calls and SMSes but informs me when I wake it up (#PocoF1 bug, or, shall I say, feature)
Here's a demonstration of the cellular being switched off. in #Phosh. The mobile data toggle thing is. now working fine by the way
Just scored a huge quality of life win here. My biggest gripe with pmOS thus far has been the on-screen keyboards. I've tried squeek, stub, unfettered, and I feel like there's one more... but w/e, they all leave something to be desired, *except* for wvkbd, which I liked immediately, but it's not built for Phosh (does not implement the OSK0 dbus interface), and installing it before I knew that caused huge problems on my Poco F1.
But, thanks to...
@lina @ElliesSurviving well, i carry a #pinephonepro, not an og #pinephone
it's not the fastest, but with #phosh or #gnome mobile it's a surprisingly effective #FOSS #smartphone
plus with #waydroid you can run all the usual #android apps
it is pretty fun compiling a kernel for your phone, and booting it over serial
or talking directly to the modem with at commands over serial -- i can change my IMEI to whatever i want :P

Update 13.0.4
The FuriOS 13.0.4 monthly update is here, featuring the latest changes from the GNOME and Debian projects, as well as some of our own special magic sauce: SMS and modem crash fixes, improved mobile data reliability, an easy way to use your FLX1 to charge other USB-C devices (pretty cool!) and initial support for LTE bands 2, 4, 12, and 66
#Phosh 0.43.0 will have a simple Pomodoro quick setting. Here's a short demo: https://phosh.mobi/videos/pomodoro-quick-setting/
#PostmarketOS, day whatever: my biggest problems with this phone are 1: audio from main speaker is cooked, and 2: it needs a new battery. #Phosh is an absolute delight. Having full fat Firefox ESR in my pocket is pretty lit. Got MMS working as well. Once I can actually get untethered from the wall, I can definitely live this life, even with the borked speaker audio. Honestly once my left earbud rematerializes, I don't even care that much about the speaker lol
Half Life 2 Lost Coast benchmark got 34 FPS on FEX-Emu running on OnePlus 6T with default settings, 200% screen scaling on Phosh.
Half Life 2 Deathmatch works great on #postmarketOS #Phosh with FEX-Emu and Distrobox! Runs smoothly on my Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro with the pogo pin keyboard and a Bluetooth mouse!
