According to media reports, an Il-76 was mistakenly shot down in Darfur, western Sudan, likely while transporting weapons.

It was shot down by RSF separatist fighters, for whom the delivery was intended.

A Russian passport was found on one of the crew members, and a safety manual in Russian was also discovered among the wreckage.
