Did you know that the first Jewish settlers arrived in Savannah, Georgia, in 1733? A group of 42 Sephardic Jews, fleeing persecution in Europe, landed just months after the city was founded. They established Congregation Mickve Israel, one of the oldest Jewish congregations in America, and played a key role in the city’s early development. Their resilience and contributions remain a vital part of Savannah’s history!

Somehow we’ve made it to March. “In like a lion…” This is an original first edition lino block print showing a lioness and a lion, sitting in the grass, watching. I was inspired by a photograph my mother took in the Ngorongoro conservation area in Tanzania. It is called, "The Watchers, Ngorongoro". The photo gives the strong impression the lions are watching the people back. 🧵1/2

While wandering through Savannah, I stumbled upon something truly special—Congregation Mickve Israel, one of the oldest Jewish congregations in the U.S., founded in 1733.

As an Israeli Jew, stepping inside this historic synagogue filled me with pride and warmth. The rich history, the beautifully preserved Torah scrolls, and the deep roots of Jewish life in America left me in awe.

Sharing a glimpse of this incredible place with you!

Feel awful putting the feral cat back outside now that the freeze is over. She was on best behavior indoors, quiet, respectful, litter-trained. But I cannot take on a fourth cat. I have no hope for her as she is now back on her own in the neighborhood.

The Iconic Fountain at Forsyth Park Historic Savannah Georgia

Nestled in the heart of Savannah's enchanting Forsyth Park, the iconic fountain is one of the city's most celebrated landmarks. Designed in the mid-19th century, the fountain was installed in 1858, inspired by the grand fountains of Europe.

This memory popped up today. Standing on that quiet street of Savannah, Georgia, so far from home, I saw something unexpected: an enormous Israeli flag proudly displayed outside a grand house. It stopped me in my tracks.

In these dark times for Israel, that flag was more than a symbol. It was a connection to home, a reminder of the people I love, the resilience of our nation, and the solidarity that still exists, even far away.

To whoever placed that flag outside their home, thank you. It was a powerful message of hope, pride, and unity when it was needed most.

Kamala Harris plans to expand Medicare to cover long-term care for seniors at home.

And she will pay for it by expanding Medicare's power to negotiate so that greedy Pharma corporations stop ripping us off.

Let's give her the House and Senate!
