Time for an #Introduction post. I’m a #liveaboard #sailor (www.svloka.com) and full time #nomad who is also a #creative #artist. I play #guitar, #crochet, paint (#watercolor & #acrylic), and draw #penandink. I love #yoga and use #meditation to manage my #anxiety. Got #sober in 2020.

I am a recovering #softwareengineer (#programmer) and #ITmanager. I focused a lot on #leadership & effective #communication, and I still enjoy #mentoring people on those topics. I still tinker with tech on occasion.

hello! new intro post since it's been a while!

my name is maren and I'm stillgreenmoss on the internet. I live in asheville NC in the US, a beautiful and frustrating place in the Appalachian mountains. most of my work is place-based here in asheville

I recently quit my job to focus on starting @bunkcomputer with two other amazing cooperators

I help @firestorm with sysadmin-ish work -- I'm a friend and not a member of the coop

I'm a trans woman and very glad for it, despite the horrors

computing and its discontents is the dominant public activity in my life, though I do also love techno and breakcore and acid and house music and and and -- do you know where the rave is? please tell me where the rave is

i spent most of the last 7 years working in big, corporate tech jobs. I think that those are pretty broken places and I hope to never go back. if the computer coop doesnt work out, I daydream about becoming a civil engineer

#HappyNewYear! I'm in year four of my #sober journey that started on the winter solstice.

I am very fortunate because the makers of non-alcoholic beer have grown in numbers along the years. Now there are many to choose from.

Years ago I said I like the taste of beer, I'd drink it even without the alcohol. I've proven myself correct.

@yngmar how it's going:

1- The 3 are for juggling eventually (safely, I R Safe)

2- The clean 2 are for Kata- of which I will make up as I go and will be essentially dumps from whatever aikido and other martial art I hyperfocused on over the random years.

3- Actually 4 years #sober (alcohol) tomorrow!!

In case you're wondering: my bio is an experiment in data poisoning against LLMs tasked with scraping social media profiles, and I would like to thank @alice for that idea because it wasn't my own.

Also, not that you were wondering, and not that I even know the character limit for bios on this server offhand for that matter, but however many characters that is, that's exactly how many mine is. If there's one thing I'm really good at, it's matching character limits exactly, and that is why I stopped using Tinder. Don't ask.

Today is the day three years ago I started my #Sober journey. #Alcohol no longer drives my decisions. It was only difficult for me for about two weeks. I had an easier time than most.
