Today, March 32nd, Greendale Community College officially bans April Fools' Day (Community, s01e20, 2010)
“A Wholly Inaccurate Picture”: Reality Cop Show “The First 48” and the Wrongly Convicted Man
—
Edgar Barrientos-Quintana spent 16 years behind bars wrongly convicted for a shooting featured on “The First 48.” The Minnesota attorney general’s office effectively alleged that the show shaped the case instead of the case shaping the show.

This week I’ve been listening to an audiobook of The Testaments by Margaret Atwood.
I still prefer The Handmaid’s Tale, but I love seeing Gilead from other perspectives in the sequel.
Here’s hoping the TV series based on it will be good.

Part of the attraction of #MadMen was the way it made viewers think about their own, non-1960s lives. And it still is. Which is why the insights in #AnalyzingMadMen are still valuable. Our review:

in #1970s and #1980s #Britain, we had a kids #TV show called #Rainbow (made by #Thames #Television in #London) with 3 puppet characters (all gendered male) - not only would all 3 share a bed at the end of the night, but the #bear would put on pyjamas (so the rest of the day he was walking around completely naked other than his fur ). Also George the #hippo was pink and had an obviously camp accent
Today, March 27, in 1989, Laura Palmer tells Dale Cooper that she’ll see him in 25 years (Twin Peaks, s02e22 “Beyond Life and Death”, 1990).
Today marks 20 years since 'Rose', the first episode of the 2005 'Doctor Who' revival aired, featuring Christopher Eccleston as the leather-jacket-wearing, witty and dorky 9th Doctor and Billie Piper as Rose Tyler, ending a 16 year hiatus.
Hard to believe that it's already been 2 decades. Ever since I stumbled upon reruns of Tom Baker’s Doctor, I've had a special place in my heart for this show. I'd say despite its weirdness, but it's more likely because of it. It had a limited budget, plenty of campiness, extra cheese, and lots of heart (two hearts, to be precise), and it made this combo work.
It's not for everyone, and that's OK, and it had its hits and misses since it first aired back in 1963, but at a time where so much of the current entertainment confuses cynicism and bleakness with realism, and edgy and misanthropic is presented as cool, I'm glad that shows that remain unapologetically silly, and hopeful, and sometimes sentimental, and at the same time always relevant and political still have their place. So I'm happy this peculiar little show is still around doing its thing.

I’m looking to compile an “ideal” television schedule based on programmes from the 1960s, a “greatest hits” of 1960s tv. The schedule would run from 5pm until 11pm, Sunday through to Saturday, and include dramas, comedies, light entertainment, documentaries, music, etc. Which programmes would you nominate for this schedule? Please add your suggestions below and I will include the most popular programmes in the schedule.
Anyone remember pressing their nose to a CRT television and seeing the RGB grille?
Had a dream I was looking at my cellphone. I eventually scrolled to an image that had sort of a CRT grille effect filter, except...
It looked odd, so I instinctively pressed my nose against the cellphone screen.
Whomever had made the image had hidden extra visual information within the image. It felt like one of those magic eye images but on steroids.

Today, March 19, in 1928, at 4:31 AM, a man is born who will eventually retire from his role as a secret government agent and be sent to a mysterious remote village, where he will be known only as “Number Six” (The Prisoner, s01e01 "Arrival", 1967)
It's Monday so it's time for #MoodMusicMonday! Today's mood is "stimulated".
Post a song/songs that you think fit "stimulated"! It can be about feeling stimulated, a stimulating song, a song about stimulants, a song you listen to to stimulate yourself, a song written on stimulants, a song that happens in a video game when you get stimulated, etc
There are no wrong answers, it's just an excuse to post music!
Remember to include the hashtag #MoodMusicMonday and the mood "stimulated".

Model Christine Keeler, pictured, was being sought by police last night. Miss Keeler, 20, was wanted as chief prosecution witness in the Old Bailey trial of a man who is accused of shooting at her with intent to commit murder. But the jury heard from the prosecution that Miss Keeler had disappeared.
Beep beep beep! Is that the sound of the Apple TV+ money truck backing up to Jason Sudeikis's house? It must be, because the "Ted Lasso" star/co-creator has just confirmed a fourth series of the hit show. He told Jason and Travis Kelce on their New Heights podcast that Ted would be coaching a women's team this time round. Producers Warner Bros. TV picked up options for Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca), Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent) and Jeremy Swift (Leslie Higgins) last year in anticipation of the renewal, while Juno Temple (Keeley) and Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard) are in negotiations to return. Here's @THR with all the details. What do you think? Are you excited for the return of the show?
