#Sakura in #Magdeburg for #FootpathFriday

I knew there was this famous road in Magdeburg, but I've never been until yesterday

A straight, paved path stretches into the distance, canopied by a stunning display of blooming cherry blossom trees. The trees on either side of the path are laden with clusters of vibrant pink flowers, creating a tunnel of colour overhead. The blossoms are so dense that they almost obscure the branches and hint at a soft, diffused light filtering through.
To the left of the path, a road with blurred motion suggests passing vehicles. Beyond the road, more cherry blossom trees in full bloom create a continuous wash of pink against a muted sky. To the right of the path, a strip of green grass gives way to darker green foliage of other trees and bushes. Two small figures can be seen walking in the distance along the path, further emphasizing the scale and immersive beauty of the blossoming avenue. The overall scene captures the fleeting beauty of springtime in full bloom.

Out harvesting wild garlic today and walking through a flowering blackthorn tunnel.

A earth worn footpath passing through over arching flowering blackthorn bushes. Ivy makes a darker patch up the right side of the image.
Low Green vegetation lines either side of the path and into the distance beyond the blackthorn tunnel where the sun shines on it making it look brighter in the distance.

As I approached the summit earlier this week, the trail steepened to the point that “ladders” (stairs) were installed to help hikers. However, the ladders (see pic from a previous summer) were completely covered with #snow and #ice making for a challenge in the ascent/descent. After starting with microspikes, I then put on full crampons to get down safely. #FootpathFriday #hiking #winter

The trail consisted of several inches of powder snow on top of solid ice from a previous melt/freeze cycle. There was no evidence of the presence of the ladder as the snow and ice were deep. My foot prints show that I was sidestepping down to maintain balance. Evergreen trees line the trail.

It’s #FootpathFriday once again. Today I’m up above the clouds…ok the mist in the valleys.

I can see why they call this Constitution Hill. I haven’t had breakfast yet so I’m a bit puffed but I’ll rectify that with the cinnamon bun I brought with me.

Have a good Friday fedifriends. Hopefully a gentle slide into the weekend.

#FootpathFriday with a throwback to #Cornwall. In 2013, we hiked the #SouthWestCoastPath from Penzance to St Ives in the baking August heat. As you can hopefully see in this low-quality photo, the #scenic views were glorious!
