Lewelyn Dixon has lived in the US for 50 years, is a green card holder and works at UW Medicine. She's been detained at ICE's notorious prison, the NW Detention center.

The #Trump admin is trying to deport *another* student, 21-yr-old #YunseoChung, a legal permanent resident, under the statute authorizing Secy of State #MarcoRubio to remove people deemed threat. She's lived here since childhood.
Chung wasn’t a leader or heavily involved in the protest movement, she only attended a few.
The #US is seeking to deport a person w/a #GreenCard since she was a child because she went to a #protest.

Suri…was put in #deportation proceedings under the same rarely used provision of #immigration #law that the govt invoked to deport #MahmoudKhalil, the #ColumbiaUniversity grad student & #GreenCard holder who led pro-#Palestinian protests on campus. That provision gives the secy of #State power to deport noncitizens if he determines their continued presence in the #US would threaten #ForeignPolicy.

#Germany …said earlier this wk that it was monitoring whether there had been a change in #US #immigration policy after 3 nationals had been detained.
2 of the cases have been resolved, w/the affected nationals returning to Germany, while the remaining case is being handled w/the help of the consulate general in Boston.
Acc/to Boston public broadcaster WGBH, a German man w/a #GreenCard was detained by immigration authorities this month at Boston airport & is being held in a #detention facility.

Schmidt was subjected to hours of intense questioning without being informed of the reason. His mother told Newsweek that two officers "violently interrogated" him, stripped him naked, forced him under a cold shower, and pressured him to give up his #greencard.
According to the report, Schmidt was deprived of sleep, food, water, and his prescribed medication for anxiety and depression. Eventually, he collapsed and was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was diagnosed with the flu.

Migrant*innen und Minderheiten nicht an Recht und Gesetz halten muss, ermutigt Staatsbedienstete und ihre Helfer*innen, ebenfalls Willkür zu üben. Wie vor knapp 100 Jahren in Deutschland, wie seit 3 Jahren Russland in der Ukraine - und wie an vielen Orten in der Welt.
Die USA sind dabei aufzuhören, ein demokratischer Rechtsstaat zu sein. Ich würde nicht mehr dort hin reisen. Es wäre mir zu gefährlich.

However, #MahmoudKhalil is in the #UnitedStates on a #GreenCard & NOT on a student #visa, Greer said Sunday. Despite informing agents about his #legal status, #ICE detained him, she said.
#Trump claimed Khalil was a "Radical Foreign Pro-Hamas Student" & said it was the "first arrest of many to come" in a post on his social media.
"We will find, apprehend, & deport these terrorist sympathizers from our country -- never to return again," he added.

Khalil was arrested by #Trump’s ICE agents at Columbia University over the weekend, despite having a #GreenCard sparking an outcry from #CivilRights groups. His attys subsequently filed a #HabeasCorpus petition challenging his arrest.

When agents arrived to arrest Mahmoud Khalil they threatened to also arrest his 8-month's pregnant wife for standing up for his rights.
Mahmoud was told by cops that his "student visa was revoked" but he doesn't need a visa because he is a green card holder.
