"Life Is Just a Bowl of Cherries" is a #popular #song with music by #RayHenderson and lyrics by #LewBrown, published in 1931. #EthelMerman introduced this song in George White's Scandals of 1931. A #RudyVallée version, recorded in 1931, achieved success. The song was revived in 1953 by singer #JayePMorgan. The song title gave rise to the revue of Henderson's music called It's the Cherries, which launched the #AmericanComposerSeries in 2000.

I just watched a very interesting bio of #HazelScott on #PBS #AmericanMasters.

Scott was a #Black woman who was a #MusicalProdigy who was enrolled at #Julliard at a very young age, who mastered the classics but who made a living mainly playing jazz & #popular music w/crossovers to classical music.

Hazel was married (for a time) to #AdamClaytonPowell, had the 1st TV show in the 50's staring a #Black performer before #NatKingCole got one, made a few movies on her own terms before being #BlackListed from the #movies & from #TV because she stood up for the herself & the rights of others & who lived for a time in #Paris, like a lot of Black creative people did to escape the discrimination they felt in the #US.

All these recent "articles" and toots about #Python becoming the most #popular programming language on #Github are driving me nuts. And I say that as a long-time Python user and fan of the #language.

Even if you could define what exactly "#popularity" is in relation to some Github #statistics, it is #meaningless and pointless.
