Democrats need to stay to the left and fight for the poor, the middle class, and the average working family.

I'm not a fan of Rachel Shabi and disagree with her a lot, including with parts of this article. But she is circling an important recognition of the left ceding the ground of antisemitism to the right. To all our detriment.

Well-off #liberals still, to this day, think that you can get rid of #fascism with ridicule, clever takes, & refusing to pay attention to them. But those are rules for the boogeyman, not for real monsters. With real monsters, the only way to handle them is head on. Or head off, as it were.

I'd like to take this opportunity to recognize once again my fellow #liberals and #progressives who sat out the #election in #November because, in their ignorance, they didn't like President's Biden support of #Israel.

It's been one day—ONE DAY—and we've already seen the Bronzed Bastard pardoning the violent #seditionists of #Jan6; blocking the arrival of already-approved #refugees from #Afghanistan, including those who directly helped the US in our efforts and are at tremendous risk under the #Taliban; attempting to kill the right of #citizenship guaranteed by the #Constitution; and nominating #Christofascists for key #cabinet positions.

Every liberal who stayed home on Nov 5th is just as much an accessory to these horrors as any ignorant, red-hatted, pickup-truck driving white Republican voter. Congratulations: you've made America meaner, and weaker.

The Republicans have apparently taken the US #HouseOfRepresentatives 218 seats to 208, with 218 seats needed to control

And, through #LeonardLeo and the #FederalistSociety the Republicans control the United States #SupremeCourt #SCOTUS

So that's it. Game over

The Republican party will control all three branches -- Executive, Legislative, and Judicial -- of the #FederalGovernment

The only faint bit good news is that John Thune (R) of South Dakota will be the next Senate majority leader

#Trump and #MAGA Republicans had put a great deal of pressure on the senators to back Florida senator Rick Scott, but he marshaled fewer votes than either Thune or John Cornyn of Texas

Thune is a distinctly *non* MAGA Republican

#Trump and #RFKjr and #ElonMusk will be coming after the Administrative branch this winter
