I took a stab at cleaning up my code for BearExporter, a Python script to export all of your Bear notes to Markdown files you can use with Obsidian, read in the terminal, or whatever.

As the old saying goes "it works for me!" but I know it's not exactly great code, but it is available.

I'm not great at Python but I'll try to improve it as time allows.

I just published the source code for my very naive #Python implementation for generating a node network based on MITRE Intrusion Sets and Techniques. It will output linked #Markdown files linking intrusion sets to their used techniques.

Perhaps someone finds it useful or interesting to experiment with.

I hinted at this in a thread started by @Viss where he asked for input on a few very likely malicious domains. Me @Viss @cR0w @neurovagrant and others did some OSINT fun work with a couple of the original domains.

It was this thread: mastodon.social/@Viss/11414512

Now I posted a picture of a node network rendered in Obsidian and I hinted that perhaps Obsidian could be used as a poor mans version of performing threat intelligence work.

Initializing a new project - Interplanetary Markdown. Might explore a #Web3 (off-chain) approach later for a better experience, but for now, keeping it simple with good old #OpenPGP.

A censorship-resistant #Markdown publishing platform, enabling seamless content distribution. Powered by the Interplanetary File System (#IPFS), ensuring #blogs, #articles, and other written content remain accessible and verifiable across the distributed web.

I went to Calm Coding at @varia and it was very cool! We listened to #cumbia, ate cookies and talked about #servers, #microblogging, #sftp, #texteditors, #obsidian, #emacs, #vim, #bash, #zotero, #mastodon, #bluesky, #wikimedia, #hibiscus, #markdown, #orgmode, #hugo, #knitting, #happenings, #websites, #rent and #bread. Admittedly there was some coding as well.
I felt very welcome and I think it's pretty dope that I already met real peoples through Mastodon! 8-)
Ty @bene & @ccl for organizing!

Edit: Ich habe Kontakt zu 4 wunderbaren Menschen, die mir helfen können. Danke an alle!

I don't think that JSON is a good universal data format. It's quite limited and needs additions like JSON-LD to make it even mildly good at this job. It's also quite verbose. But it's good enough and relatively universal, so I accept it rather than some of the technically superior alternatives.

Markdown is not great. There are other formats that are more flexible, more powerful, easier to read and better to work with. Yet the world has largely settled on Markdown, so I'm OK with tools like this one which convert other formats to Markdown.

Universality sometimes trumps utility.

Looking to migrate an existing website to 11ty. It's predominantly blog content, and the blog posts themselves will be in Markdown. But I'm at a bit of a loss around which template language to use.

I'm very familiar with TSX, so maybe I should stick with that? Is there a reason to use something like Nunjucks instead?

Accessibility reminder:

Format unordered lists in Mastodon posts using an asterisk as a bullet point, not a hyphen.

End each list item as you would any sentence or summary, typically using a period or a semicolon.
