The storm video yesterday was from when I went for a run near where I live.
On my route is a smallholding, one of many, with a building complex, horses, dogs that bark. Quite normal, except for the sign, which I won't reproduce right now.
'Professional Adventure Training' is the banner on the sign. Sometimes when I'm running I pass small groups of young men dressed in fatigues, carrying fake guns. They're based at that smallholding. You see, it's a training venue for #mercenaries.
#Security companies in #SouthAfrica are all kinds of messed up. The slightly more famous version of this was the base training #Libyan armed organisations. But these training camps are ubiquitous. And most of them I suspect are not training #MiddleEastern radicals, but are training guns-for-hire, with a substantial crossover into local security business, which is itself directly connected to the heavily armed #gang and #syndicate systems that run #protection and #drug rackets all across the country.
