• It's a #Debian-based distro and it barely sips resources to the point that even a #Poulsbo (#AtomZ520 + #GMA500)-based #Netbook (in my case a Vaio #P11Z) can run it fluidly as software renderer (#llvmpipe)...

@OpenComputeDesign same with many other things.

• #GluedInBatteries instead of #ToolfreeSwappableBatteries are just an #excuse for #AntiRepairDesign (points at #Vaio #P11Z & #Fairphone #PF3plus)

• #SolderedDownRAM & #SolderedDownSSDs were never valid outside #EmbeddedDevices that need to survive harsh envoirments (points at a rugged, ATEX-certified PTT radio for industrial plants)

• #Repairability saves lives (points at #MedicalDevices!).

• Want to have more #battery #runtime? We have solutions for that for decades (points at #EeePC and it's tool-free removeable and swappable battery)...

Personally I'm so pissed off amidst the ongoing #Enshittification that I really need ti get the #NUCbook off the ground before my #X230tablet dies.

• Tho if I had to choose a #Laptop right now that I can buy in stores I'd pick the #Framework13 hands-down because it's (sadly!) the by far best #Notebook in terms of #repairability & #maintainability!

Again: I started @OS1337 as an exercise in #minimalism as my #P11Z is getting too slow for @bunsenlabs / #BunsenlabsLinux.

• Abeit the current target is a #1440kB version that allows one to #SSH into things and work that way...

@krutonium I can recommend @bunsenlabs / #BunsenLabsLinux which runs smooth in my #Vaio #P11Z with the shitty #GMA500 in #llvmpipe.

• If that's too straining, consider #TinyCore, which us a #BusyBox-based distro - abeit very minimalist.

Those are the options with a fancy #GUI.

• I aim for #i486 with @OS1337 (if #Linux didn't cancel #i386 and #toxbox never bothered with it, I'd aim dir that!) but as of now that isn't useable.
