EPEL 10 is now available! Thank you to the @centos project for enabling the early work we were able to do via CentOS Stream 10.

EPEL 10 already contains over 10,000 packages, built from over 3,600 source packages. This is a result of the hard work of over 150 Fedora package maintainers!

Check it out or see how you can contribute with packaging: communityblog.fedoraproject.or

@vvelox @SecurityWriter I disagree with the last part tho, and I'd rather bite the bullet and pay for a #macPro and a #hp z-Series Workstation with #RHEL on just to not have to ever touch #Windows in my lide again.

  • Simply because noone can or will be able to pay me enough to have that #Govware explode in my face when #GDPR & #BDSG get enforced and the incompatibility with #CloudAct gets legal precedented.

I'd rather roll my own #distro and work out the few issues #Wine has on #Linux than to ever deal with dysfunctionally designed malware from #Microsoft!

I have a question about #RedHat #RHEL Beta ... it's a decade since I ran a beta release - which was only for a short time; it was for testing purpose only.

I'm contemplating to install RHEL 10 Beta on a new machine instead of RHEL9. Can the beta release be upgraded to the full release once released? Or would that require a full reinstall?

I can handle a bit roughness during the beta phase. But I'd like to avoid upgrading from RHEL9 to RHEL10, as I believe that's a bigger upgrade in the end.

@ravirockks OFC they don't.

At best they show people how to change fan curves in the #UEFI or hiw to run #memtest86+, but mostly they just "teach" people how to consume #Windows and at best #macOS and that's it.

Same with @libreoffice / #LibreOffice & @thunderbird / #Thunderbird.

@barrysampson given the #licensing costs for #ToonBoom, it's good to see their #TechSupport actually invested time and effort.

Most "Professional Software" on #Linux is sometimes really nit easy to procure:

  • #Autodesk literally won't even offer me a #license for #Maya unless I sent them a Serial # of an eligible Workstation (i.e. #HP #Z600 - spec'd to compatibility from the factory) existing & valid #RHEL subscription and would only support that combo with the license...

So it's no wounder those that can't afford it stick to #blender & #Moho like @fuchsiii ...

Wondering how to lock out an account in Linux? How about how to create a time-bound account that will lock on a certain date? Or maybe just some basic linux account security? Check out this episode of Into the Terminal where Scott and I argue about whether it's OK to put a plain text password in a script.
