My mom did this before I stopped talking to her for unrelated reasons.

I view it as unnecessary, and purposeful. Most adults understand how to separate proselytizing from normal mention of background activity. E.g., "I was at church the other night" vs "I prayed for X and the Lord delivers!"

I'm supposed to believe that she really doesn't understand the difference? Or is it more likely that she doesn't respect my beliefs (lack thereof) and is micro aggressing?

Any questions about why I don't really want her around my kids?

I love my mom; I really do. But it's frustrating that she KNOWS I'm atheist, and yet persists in saying she's "praying for me" for any situation, or fits church into nearly every conversation. And most of the time it's in text embedded in a post that has other stuff I don't want to lose, so I can't simply delete it from my side.

So an #introduction is in order!

I'm a #nonbinary #pansexual that does not care about #pronouns. I legitimately could care less what people call me. I have enough #anxiety and #depression in my life as it is, I have to stick to what I actually care about.

I was a child indoctrinated into my parent's church where I somehow focused on the aspects that God would love everyone and we should do the same, that all the other teachings didn't really stick. Thankful for that every day. I'm now happily an #atheist that knows that I don't have to follow a religion to not be a shit person.

Due to the #indoctrination, I am still very much learning and trying to be comfortable with discovering myself. I've been taking baby steps into figuring out what I would actually label myself as, so things could possibly be changing in the future.

I have 2 kids that I am raising to be empathetic and care about others and trying to help out those that are in worse situations than we are. I hope I'm doing it right, but only time will tell.

I'm also a big hobbyist that enjoys #knitting #sewing #hiking #reading #crossstitch #embroidery #crocheting and really anything else that just piques my interest. I am also working on trying to build up my #community and help those in my area that need it. I am also an adamant supporter of my local #library!

I'm really glad to be here in this space where I don't have to worry about being perceived a certain way. Thank you for letting me join!

Tonight is the longest night, and tomorrow will be the shortest day.

Solstices and equinoxes.

These events were recognized by thinking intelligent apes in Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas, separated only by time and distance, as they unraveled the mysteries of the universe and built civilizations.

So I celebrate #Solstice as an #Atheist

It is a time to reflect and recognize what was built but see what we can still change for a better future, together as thinking intelligent apes.

I'm a #cancer and #CPTSD survivor, hEDS, carer, #bi+ activist, former union rep, #polyamorous person, great cook, #photographer, #feminist, #atheist (former Catholic), #SJW, #gamer (all types), and generally awesome. I will block TERFs, SWERFs, and other bigots.

I am agender and you can use any pronoun you like for me.

I tend to post about my own lived experience (will use Content Warnings when necessary), #photography, #feminism (the real, trans-inclusive kind), cooking, usefulness of instructions, how little sleep I got, whether I am in pain, and sometimes frustrations.

Would love to follow more photographers, #feminists (the trans-inclusive ones), #writers, #musicians, people with similar political opinions to mine, people who love cooking, people who play games.

Reading the Christian Bible is part of why I'm an atheist.

This is also why I have junk like The Art of The Deal in my #TBR pile. I want to read it only to better understand why it is junk.

I think we can learn from such trash rather than avoiding or trashing them & I fully acknowledge that understanding these works are junk from the outset, rather than believing them to be valued, is much harder.
