Closeup of a dragonfly sitting on a dried out flower stem of some sort. It is facing about 45 degrees to the right of the camera. It has large bulbous eyes that are a blue/turquoise color. The body is mostly black with irregular yellow strips running up and down. The tail is black with segmented yellow stripes running the length of it. The wings are translucent and one has a large tear in it.

Der Blaue Mauerpfeffer ist eine leider nicht frostharte Pflanze des südlichen Mittelmeerraums, die sehr klein bleibt und nur millimetergroße Blüten hat. Diese sind dann aber aus der Nähe durchaus hübsch.

A Bag-shelter Moth (Ochrogaster lunifer) clinging for dear life onto a sliding metal door rail, hanging precipitously above a 1 inch drop to the decking far below.

So hairy!

Closeup of a small, incredibly furry brown and white moth, which we are looking downward on from above and to the side. Its head is completely covered in long, sticky-out hair. This hair also covers the upper parts of its legs. Smaller hairs then take over, covered its lower legs and even its wings. The moth clings onto the metal rail of a sliding door with three of its legs

You can enjoy the Hydrangea for so long. This shrub blooms profusely in the summer, even in the shade, in late summer the color changes to pink or green or very dark red depending on which variety you have. And then in winter the flowers become like lace, which is nice to photograph. Only in the spring when fresh green appears on the shrub again, I cut away the old flowers to make room for new blooms. #hydrangea #hydrangeas #flowers #flower #macro #macro-freaks #macrophotography #bloemen #foto #photo #garden #shadegardening #gardening

The flower of a Hydrangea in winter. Only the "skeleton" remains. A small stem comes from the upper left corner, diagonally downwards. The flower with three more petals takes up the entire photo, to every other corner a transparent, lace-like petal. The upper left is blue, but behind the flower it is dark, so that the lacelike petals illuminated by sunlight stand out well.

Scorpion under UV light.
For some reason, scorpions glow blue or purple under UV light. This makes them very easy to spot with an UV torch. This glow is quite weak - this is a 3 seconds exposure. During these three seconds, i moved the UV torch around to make sure that the scorpion was evenly lit.
