I’ve just started a new audiobook, inspired by my rewatch of Mad Men, which is all about the women who rose to the top at department stores on 5th Avenue and it’s addictive! So fascinating to read all about how these huge stores were run, with in house ad agencies, comparison shoppers snooping on the competition and perks like cheap holidays and college courses in interior design and merchandising. I've been reading Tennyson's "Idylls of the King" while simultaneously listening to the audiobook. It felt like maybe it was something an elementary school student would do - read the book while the teacher plays the audiobook.
