Sonnenlicht fällt auf das Watt bei Sankt Peter Ording an der Nordsee. Am Horizont glitzert noch ein wenig Meer, der. größte Teil des Bildes ist Meeresboden bei Ebbe. Die Farben sind grau, schwarz und etwas blau.

Sunlight falls on the mudflats near Sankt Peter Ording on the North Sea. A little sea still glistens on the horizon, most of the picture is seabed at low tide. The colours are grey, black and a little blue.

The man arrested over the UK ship collision is Russian, the ship's owner says.

The arrested master of the Solong, a container ship that crashed into another vessel in the North Sea, is a Russian national, its management company has confirmed.

The 59-year-old was arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter on Tuesday after Monday’s fiery collision off the East Yorkshire coast, which left one man presumed dead.

Good that all but one crew is safe after this toxic tanker collision in the North Sea. The potential environmental damage is devastating.
Another question: what is a US flagged oil tanker carrying jet fuel for the US Air Force doing anchored off the East Yorkshire coast? Is this for the East Anglian US airbases?

A cargo ship struck a tanker carrying jet fuel on Monday in the North Sea, sparking a massive fire off England and leaving 32 people injured, the tanker's operator and authorities said. A major rescue operation was being coordinated by the UK Coastguard as images showed a huge plume of thick, black smoke and flames rising from the scene about 10 miles (16 kilometres) off the coast. FRANCE 24's Selina Sykes reports.
