Hey #woodworking thing-knowers, I recently bought a table saw, and on the rip fence is this attachment, the purpose of which I can't work out. It's a bar of what seems to be spring steel, with a pivot at one end, clamped to the back of the fence in the middle. Can anyone enlighten me to what it's for?
The saw is an Italian-made SCM SI-12, probably thirty to forty years old.

A first trace of organizing appears in the messy workshop/garage barn. Still so much to do and then redo it several times over before it resembles anything I actually want.

But it's a multi-step process, this climbing of the workshop tech tree. Build crap workshop to build a better workshop with.

Ancient farmhouse furniture has many lives. Once it's kicked out of the house, it just goes into a barn. This one has been patched several times already.

A massive old farmhouse cabinet with five drawers. It's old and worn, parts are missing and it has some improvised repairs. There's new masking tape labels on the drawers, organizing items such as sealant+foam, spray paint, screws+nails, nuts+bolts and one just sayd "grind".
